no style / in style

It had been 2 months since I last got a haircut and I couldn't stand it any longer. I am not one to make an appointment with a stylist on a regular basis, so 9 times out of 10 I will get fed up with my hair one day and go right then to get it cut. I know this isn't the best way to go about it. And tonight might have cured me from ever doing that again. After work I went to a haircuttery I've been before but got a new stylist. For some reason I had a feeling she wasn't a safe bet so I told her to just cut a half inch. She barely wet my hair with a spray bottle and seemed to just start cutting randomly, and it looked like more than a half inch was coming off. I cringed at what I was seeing. After less than 10 minutes she asked how I like it. I honestly could not say I liked it. I said I've never seen my hair look so bad - there is absolutely no style to it. But I also admitted that it was extra frizzy today and I would just have to wait until I washed it and then see what I thought. She said, "I can see by your face you're not happy so I'm not going to charge you." I didn't even offer to pay. I went straight home and washed my hair.....it's not quite as bad as I thought. Should I go back and pay? / i realized i have a lot of necklaces - most of them from thrift stores - i just can't resist them. does it look like an abundance?

oh dear - the only times I've been to somewhere like a Master Cut I've been so disappointed. I'm sorry you had a bad experience too. I need a haircut too.

And...I love the vintage necklaces. As Mae West said, less is not more. More is more and too much of a good thing is never enough.

Oh, no. I once had a perm so bad I didn't want to leave the house. I hope after a couple of days you are happier with it. As for paying for it, I don't know. I'm not sure what I would do.

Wow, those look like some great necklaces!

oops... this made me grin. not at your expense though. i tend to do the same thing: get fed up and go but i have also learned to trust my 6th sense as it has never failed me up until this point.

i cannot resist earrings. i am always scrounging for new one and i definitely can't walk past a good pair of shoes : )

This is a tough one! It doesn't sound like she put too much effort into the haircut to begin with. And it sounds like she didn't do what you asked her to do. I say....just don't go back. Your hair will grow. I've been there and know how you feel. It's tough to find a really good stylist!! Fortunately, that's the profession my daughter chose....so she comes to my house every six weeks and does the cut / color / highlights! Works great for us. I love the necklaces!!

L do not pay, that is normal for a service that did not satisfy. OK you have beautiful curls and body in that cut...it will grow!!

not easy tho..I have had a few bad ones igo to the same lady and have for years

It took me years, then I found a perfect stylist. I even moved with here when she started her own business. I used to have a short, short pixie cut, not far from looking buzzed. Then about a year, add in a few extra months..I just stopped getting it cut and let it grow out. It's already down to my shoulders..and I'm scared to get it even trimmed. go figure...

As for paying for the cut she didn't do what she was suppose to do. so I would say no. (Hugs)Indigo

No way!! Don't go pay. She should have listened to you. Still, I think you should know, I saw your picture and said to myself, "Oh my! I just love those curls. Leslye looks great." I did.

you probably don't want to hear this leslye but i think your hair looks grand...it is curly so that means i love it. women are always so darn careful about other people's feelings even when it is not really called for... i think it is good you said it looked terrible and if she didn't charge you then she gets to make that call... in my opinion. i hardly ever go to the hairdresser. for some reason i really hate to sped the time doing it. i am always disappointed so maybe that's why... i have been knowing i ned a haircut now for two months..sigh.
