happy earth day

solo post - L , Nikon

"I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in." -John Muir, Preservationist, 1838-1914

My favorite time of day is at dusk when the light is changing and wildlife is rustling about. I enjoy sitting down by the creek and just letting the stress of the day fade away. Ours is a dry creek bed, but one day I would like to create some sort of water feature down there to give the impression of a real creek. However, I might never come in if I do that. I would build a fire down there and sit for hours with a cup of tea just enjoying the trickle of the water, and the bird song...
Did you get a chance to get outside today- to feel the sun on your face, maybe a breeze through your hair and to appreciate the beauty of nature around you?

Not nearly enough. Lately I've been forgetting to do this, forgetting the gift of it. I rescued my son's coat quickly out of a tree, through the rain. I stopped in my reaching for a surprised moment and looked up. Huh, it was beautiful, even in the rain. And then duck and run. Why do I have to continually relearn these lessons?

Beautiful you for seeing.

Yes, I did. A friend's husband returned from deployment on a Navy ship and was itching to work in the yard. Being the amateur landscaper that I am, I measured her front bed, created a design, and went to the Exchange to pick out the plants. I hope it works out well for them!

I also went outside with C. after homework to play with the dog and check out the veggie garden.

If we lived near water, none of us would ever get anything done. My family barely leaves the dock when they visit their grandparents.

Happy Thursday!

That sounds just lovely! We didn't have sun. It was very chilly, windy and cloudy. We're supposed to get a nice day tomorrow!

Oh, I know just what you mean. You reminded me of this post of mine. I've never pasted a link to a comment before, so I don't know if it will work. Anyway, I thought you might like it. http://comesitbymyfire.blogspot.com/2008/06/lheure-bleue.html
