dripping / draping

L - coolpix 990 / T- phone pic

I took this photo when I got home. It's a drippy, rainy day and a little chilly too, but see these dogwoods - they're loving the rain and they will be bursting in their white glory come Easter. I'm always amazed at how, no matter when Easter falls, the dogwoods always seem to be in full bloom in time for Easter. / Taylor sent this photo late tonight but she didn't send any words to tell about it. I know that it is some sort of installation at her art building and it looks very interesting - I'd love to know more about it. It took me a minute to figure out what it was exactly. If you can't tell from the small photo, those are pieces of clothing all connected in some fashion - draping off of the second story. Maybe she'll tell us about it later.

your ability to marry photos. was that planned, the dogwoods and the clothing sculpture, cause if that just happened then that's weird. You two women are closely linked, in more ways than the obvious.

we have a break in the rain. I see dogwoods in my kitchen window and I smile. I wish i could share them better but the windows outside are smeared with two story high grime.

love how these two shots are linked.

I'm going to miss the dogwoods...I have one in my front yard in Atlanta and it's so wonderful to sit on the front porch with a cup of coffee in the early morning and watch as the city begins to wake up. Things are popping out everywhere here, but sadly no dogwoods.

Hmm....maybe I need to try to plant one here.

Dreamy image...I love how it looks in the rain.

I love the comparison of the two. You and your daughter work so well together.

BTW, e-mail me at mikosgirls@verizon.net so I can send you my address if you were serious about the Queenbee book.

Woman in a window, this was total happenstance. i was surprised myself when I placed them side by side - i like how the spaces between the branches mimic the spaces in the fabric sculpture.

oh cool i wouldn't have known that was clothing at all! how interesting is that? in the northwest we have what are called Pacific Dogwoods. They are tall, narrowly built, limb upon alternating limb until it looks like a white cathedral of blooms. It is resistant to all the diseases and problems inherent to the hybrid dogwoods here in the wet and cool Northwest climate. The pacific dogwoods glow like beacons amidst towering fir tree in the dark interior of the rain forest. i have never watched the calendar to see if they bloom for easter...but his year i will and then i will let you know :)

p.s. yes i did create my new signature! it took many tries and failures until i found just the right look :) i'm glad you like it!
