drying / dried

solo post - L Nikon coolpix 990

Taylor took her camera back to school with her so I am back to using my old (1996) Nikon 990. It's a great camera - I won it back when it was one of the best digital cameras made. But I was getting rather fond of using the D40x and especially with the 200mm lens.
This weekend we had perfect spring weather - cool breezes and warm sun. I enjoyed the time outside working in the yard. I dug a hole to plant a butterfly bush, I raked old leaves away from the gardenia and hydrangea plants and pulled old dried stalks away from the flowers down by the creek, and best of all enjoyed reading in the hammock. But even when the weather is nice outside, inside chores have to be done too. I couldn't bear to break away from the sunlight so I stood in the kitchen window light, hand washing dishes instead of simply putting then in the dishwasher.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

this is really lovely, the photo on the right seems to be almost an extension of the one on the left. We had a warm spring day today too. So good to get outside and feel the warm sun on your face.

Sigh...we had a cold weekend and today it is in the 30's with a wind chill in the teens and 20's. Reading in the hammock sounds wonderful!

Love those photos together! Very pretty.

I remember that pull to outside. I wonder when I'll experience it again? Pretty photos. I think your cameras doing just fine.

what fluidity between these two photos. it's like they are the same photo, yet totally different! love it!

we had a perfect weather weekend, too. i spent almost the entire day outside on Sunday.

(ps. the word verification below is "nater". it made me smile, 'cause that's what i call my brother.—just some random useless information i thought i would share.)

I suppose it's time to start saving pennies! Funny thing, I saved my pennies for a shiny new camera months ago, but I can't decide on what to buy!!! Go figure.

That would be really hard to go back to another camera after being spoiled with that one! I keep pacing my garden with every new growth. I must stalk it for at least a month before anything blooms!
