final strokes

solo post - L

Ok today, after I finish breakfast, I'll make the final strokes on my painting. But then I'll just have to turn away and stop critiquing it so harshly. I look at other peoples artwork and I like so many styles - sometimes it makes me wish I had a different style of my own. I've always been told that I have a unique style and really that's a good thing I suppose. I think it's important that an artist establishes their own personal technique and approach - that a piece by them is recognizable as theirs at first glance. I talk about all this art stuff more on my other blog site.

I don't know - do we - I'm told that about photography too but I haven't really "identified" my style. I'm told I'm romantic and vintage, but is that really a style?

Your painting is so beautiful! The colors and the shadows, it has such a wonderful feel to it.

I love your breakfast photo, too! My breakfasts never look that pretty!

the blue bowl caught my attention before anything else did!

are we not all harsh on ourselves? i would like to think that i do not have one particular style but that i am constantly growing into new ones.

Oh my! I just clicked on your etsy link and found that beautiful photo of the wedding dress by the ocean. That poem? One my absolute favorites in the entire world. It's serendipity.

This photo is completely lovely. It would be amazing hanging in a simple kitchen, beside a window with a lovely view.

There's beauty all over your place here. But experimenting wouldn't be a bad thing...
