copper links, pine path
L - Nikon / T - Nikon
I started another metalsmithing class for the winter months. I haven't worked with metal since being at the John Campbell school and it's nice to get back into it. Our instructor gave us an interesting assignment – to create whatever we wanted out of a bag of 16 copper washers. I decided to hammer on mine to create texture and even change the shape of some of the circles. This is what I have so far - a linked chain, unpolished and unfinished - a work in progress. / a new semester has begun and i'm starting to see the path i have ahead of me and appreciate the scenery as i pass through.

always on a path no matter your age T...mom do I see a couple of heart shapes?
very beautiful work, enjoy your course, for me these days I'm taking a photography class!
I love this set so quiet so spiritual!
That linked chain is going to make somebody a wonderful necklace. Could be a really cute belt for a very young, twenty-something waist, couldn't it?
i love your chain and this diptych is wonderful, as always.
I love the links and the path next to each other. Great pairing!
love the copper tones - many people do not realize that winter in the south is a neverending series of grays and coppers, depending on the amount of pine and clay in the area.
the chain is sooo gorgeous
these colors together seem to ask for exploration ...
I love how you've turned copper washers into something beautiful.
Oh my gosh, ladies. Awesome! Hope you're well...
But a very cool work in progress! loved the synchronicity of the pictures.
You ladies, linked, you are, on a deeper level.

What beautiful images these are together. And of course, the words are perfect - both talking about works in progress, paths to be taken. Really gorgeous.
