Taylor wanted me to do a chair series with the animals. I think she needs to do a bed series with hers. / i can't not.   there are so many pet photos on my phone... but how can i not?

This may be the only snowflake I see this winter. My mom has been crocheting these beautiful snowflakes all winter - she adds more to her collection every year. I love this design but she has many different ones. Because they are handmade, each is as individual and unique as a real snowflake. / i used this snowy weekend to fill some orders for the sami bracelets. i'm getting rather good at it if i do say so myself.

This week at work we are having games and contest to benefit MSK's Cycle for Survival. Today my partner and I are going on to the final round in the bean toss tournament. In addition to bean toss we have had a trivia tournament ($10 per team to enter) and "wear a crazy hat" day. Today if you donated $5 you could wear your workout clothes. That's not something I would expose others to but I will play bean toss (or cornhole as the southerns call it). / beating everyone at cornhole. my dad came to visit me and took me out to the famous The Loveless Cafe... delicious southern cooking.

who would imagine bean toss/ cornhole for both of us, in the same week, in different locations? crazy.

I needed a change. I got my hair highlighted. I see that on top of my head there are spots that stand out far more than the others - sort of like the little birch tree that Taylor took a photo of this weekend while hiking. / pretty hike on a pretty day at deep well trailhead

I'm learning a new stitch. It's an expandable market bag in the making (the easy way) / switching the breakfast menu up a bit. i'm getting pretty good at these crepes (blueberry and greek yogurt )

Knitting is consuming my evenings. I think I'm going to have to set a time limit for this activity so that I can actually get something accomplished. However it is a nice way to relax after a days work. / these are my swing-dancing shoes. taking lessons tonight.

I'm not always tolerant of when Evee barks for no reason but when she stops and gives me those sad eyes I can't help but pay attention. / patience is a virtue. daisy's good... she waits patiently for me to take her outdoors

Crazy weather around here. 70s one day, 30s the next. Here in Atlanta we watched for tornadoes from our highrise office. In Nashville the next day Taylor was hoping for snow. / daisy's first snow

We've had SO much rain this month. Saturday the sun was shining and the temperatures where in the 70s - what better thing to do than to go hiking. It felt so wonderful to be outdoors. / muddy happy dog

We're starting to get into some sort of routine around here. After the many preparations for the wedding and then Christmas it's a feeling of comfort to kick back and knit again - just because. (He can watch the all important football game if he wants to.) 

/ daisy and i are back to our usual games and it feels so right.

I'm starting the new year in a new office space. The location is very close to our other office and still high up but I will miss my Stone Mountain view. I've created a pretty relaxing atmosphere in my office by using lamp light instead of the overheads, but I feel like I need some nice artwork for the walls. / while home over break i raided my oma's basement and brought home some paintings for my new apartment. this is my gallery wall - i'm so very pleased with it. the table that my opa and uncle made is perfect too. now all i need are some photos to put in the new picture frames - i waiting on the one of me and mom at her wedding.

The tree at my workplace is huge - ornaments the size of basketballs. The glorious scent of pine is so powerful when you walk in the door it's as if you were walking into a pine forest. I love it. / my new apartment is empty save a computer on the floor and my sleeping bag - yet i have a christmas tree with lights and it's magnificent.

I wore an outfit today that I thought would make Taylor proud, but it's too matchy-matchy for her liking. She gave me some tips - taupe scarf and leather belt would be better. I agree that would be better. / it's kinda slow today

Well, I am almost (my driver's license doesn't say it yet) officially Mrs. Leslye Phillips. And Taylor is almost (she hopes to move in this weekend) an official Brentwood, TN resident. Changes.

Taylor accepted a job in Franklin, TN at a brand new Anthropologie store in the city square. She is so excited - brand new city...  brand new job... brand new store... brand new home.

I just have a brand new name - same home, same city, same job. But things will be different there with a husband in my life. New dreams... new memories... new adventures.

Today, a year ago I became engaged... on this day next week I will be Mrs. Leslye Phillips. It's been a year of preparing but there will be sudden changes. Suddenly Taylor is having to move away from Atlanta. She was offered a job at Anthropologie’s brand new store in Franklin, TN and will be moving on the very day I will be returning from the honeymoon. Gone before I get home - having to move alone. This makes both of us sad. Suddenly I will have a man in my home. There will be major changes for both of us and we won't be close by to help each other with the adjusting. 

As I look at these two photos of ours I see images reminding us to stay strong. The rock that my good friend blogger, Elaine, sent to me is a perfect quote to hold dear "Write in your heart that every day is the best of the year."  I do believe these changes will be positive growth for both of us.
