a girl / her dog

solo post - L, Nikon

I know you're probably tired of seeing this dog, but it's all I have tonight. As you may know, over the weekend Taylor brought home a little dog she had been fostering so that my brother could take him to Alabama and give him a permanent home. My brother is so happy with the way Copper is adjusting. I think at first he thought, "what am I getting myself in for?" For the past 10 years he's had a nice routine with his dog Emerson who is very well behaved and settled in as just the two of them... now he's got to train a new dog, and make sure his fence is secured - you know how beagles will follow a scent no matter what. My brother said Copper is doing well, adapting to his schedule and is fun to play with, but almost too much for his older dog to handle. Taylor said that dog was a magnet for her - he really does have a cute puppy dog face with his heavy eyeliner. Maybe my brother will benefit in more ways than he anticipates... in the way of meeting a nice young lady perhaps? I'm wondering, has anyone ever had a beagle?

My sister Margaret in Alaska has a beagle that she adores. It is really her youngest son's dog, but Ingrid likes Margaret the best. I spent some time with Ingrid and thought she was precious!

We just got Mr. "Bo"jangles this past May. He was on the 11th hours to be euthanized. Bo is part Airedale- I think the other part is beagle or hound, because he gets a swift and his nose is to the ground. Our other rescues were full breed Welsh and Lakeland terriers. I heard Beagles are runners because of the scent, but I can't confirm. There might be a testing period (not in all cases). I think as long as he is kept on a leash or watched even in a fence in area (he could dig his way out) and is micro chip he will be just fine. I look forward to hearing updates on this cutie. xo

No, I've never had a beagle, but I don't think I'd be able to resist that face.

We have a beagle named Polly. She is 11 years old now and a very sweet dog. She used to dig holes all over the yard and it was really hard to house train her when she was a puppy, but not she's great!

years ago everyone had a beagle. it was a response to charlie brown's snoopy and as i remember, they had a tendency to be overweight.

I know none of you know me but I'm Leslye's brother, so I thought I'd give a quick synopsis of Copper. He's AWESOME! Very happy in his new surrounds and with his new brother Emerson. Life is good for all concerned. Yes, he runs like a wild man, digs and does puppy stuff but just after one week, we're curbing some of that behavior and settling in to a nice routine. He's a happy dog. :-)

Oh, it is so good to hear a dog story like this with a happy ending! I am so glad all is going well, and that sweet little dog has found his true home.
