passion / patience
L - scannography / guest image from my brother
I've been trying my hardest to get some good photos of the birds in my yard, but without success. I have the passion for it, maybe I just don't have the staying power. My brother, on the other hand, does. He sends me an incredible photo of a bird almost every day. This one of the robin tending her nest happens to be one of my favorites that he has sent but there are so many more. He has bluebirds and chickadees nesting, beautiful bright yellow finches and expressive little titmice, mockingbirds and woodpeckers, and many of this robin tending her nest at the next door neighbors. He's gotten them feeding, flying into and out of their nest, with beaks full of nesting material, even fighting. I have been amazed at his eye. Patience and persistence certainly pays off.

Yes - bird photos do seem to take patience. Sometimes I have the patience - and sometimes not!! LOL
i am always amazed how some people always seem to be in the right place at the right time for bird photos. i never am. except ducks. i can always get the ducks becausesue they like to stand around.
nice capture by your brother - i have a hard time getting those little birdies to sit still and pose for me! I love the scanograph, though - very clever!
I love your scannography!
I am not patient enough to get bird photos but I love to see them! That's a great image your brother captured.
i don't have it either...i thought it was because i never have the right lens on to do it.
i think i've found a scanner that i like but will have to order it. it's a canon that does slides too and has the light at bottom and top.
have you seen there is a national artist that does these amazing shots with a scanner like you're doing? i saw him featured in smithsonian but i can't remember his name.
i agree, your brothers image is really a great moment in that busy mommas day!...i do not have the patience OR a good enough camera, so I just mak'em! and so do you with your amazing scan art...i really admire it
I agree, bird photos are a challenge. Cool that your brother loves photography too!
I do so love your scannographys.
This is amazing. I LOVE both of these images, but that scan looks like little jewels. And yes, birds. Insert exaperated sigh right here. I think you need about a 3 jillion mm lens w/1.4. At least I do. :)

Spectacular photographs!
