faded blossom / dusty bloom

solo post - L, Nikon

I hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July. Mine was very laid back - spending most of the day just relaxing in the hammock with a new book. But the day was set off to a good start by going to church with my parents. There was uplifting patriotic music and the sermon was one of the best I've ever heard in my life. Truly. Such a great way to start the day. The day ended with a blast by lighting a few flowering fireworks at home. I continue to hear them going off throughout the neighborhood. T has gone off to enjoy some more fireworks with her friends.

Our 4th was pretty quiet, except for some neighbor's fire crackers. Timmy was afraid, so we spent the evening giving him treats to distract him from the noise. Poor pup.

I love the dusty, mottled quality to both the flowers and the berries. I am so glad you had a wonderful day. Whacha readin'?

Wonder what the sermon was about?

Cool about you being in Holland - there is a video of us at the beach there today on my blog!

it is midnight and we are almost a week beyond the 4th. i still have sparklers (i always have sparklers). come over and we'll write our names in the night air. it'll be quiet and peaceful and then you can go back to your book. a laid back 4th is the very best kind.
