"Sweet May hath come to love us,
Flowers, trees, their blossoms don;
And through the blue heavens above us
The very clouds move on."
- Heinrich Heine, Book of Songs
Just a patch of weeds - but aren't they pretty little things? This lawn was quite colorful -there were purple, white and yellow weeds mixed with the green green grass. Actually kinda pretty. But I guess if it was your yard you wouldn't appreciate them so much. Sort of like graffiti?
"Weeds are nature's graffiti." -Janice Maeditere
clover flowers? I love them - so tiny and detailed. love the sky shot.
ReplyDeleteI never heard that about weeds being graffiti, but What a good description!
ReplyDeletei love that quote on weeds! and, what a glorious sky.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! We have purple and white violets in our lawn and dandelions, too. They are pretty! I hope you have a good weekend!
ReplyDeletegraffiti quote is so true...great side by side photos showing a spring moment!
ReplyDeleteAnd see? Just a pinch of blue jean marries the two pictures. I am in awe of your marriage abilities.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how a plant gets classified as a weed. I am an equal opportunity gardener...so if something is growing in my garden and it's pretty then it gets to stay...regardless. My kids will always bring me bunches of flowers ...most of which are actually weeds...but to them they are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSweet May is right...so beautiful
ReplyDeleteI love the quote about weeds! This week, I've had iris, cranesbill, colombine, weigela, and azaelas blooming. I was sitting reading the second book in the Twilight Series tonight on the patio when I heard I buzzing. I looked up, expecting a wood bee to find a hummingbird hovering over the colombine. I love spring!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever read that quote before (weeds/graffiti). I love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is a perfect diptych. The miracles of the Earth beneath our feet and the sky above our heads. Marvelous.
